Try this exercise created by Delara and postedon Naseem's blog (also pretty darn bright for posing the question - what are ways one can go about taking accountability for his or her choices during the day?)
Step One (a must): At the end of your day write out your story. What happened with you today? Write it as though you are telling a friend... so not the mundane minute-to-minute brushing your teeth type of story. But, those moments that stand out as significant enough to re-tell.
Step Two (a must): Look back at story and look for signs of your own nobility. What did you do that exhibited honor for yourself?
Step Three (optional): This part is like a choose your own adventure book. Look back at what you wrote and think about what emotion/thought/spirit drove you to act. What would the situation have looked like had a different emotion/thought/spirit been behind it? Re-write the story as though your main character (you) had acted with that alternate motive/attitude.
p.s. let me know how this exercise goes for you.
A wonderful way to follow the Baha'i guidance to "bring yourself to account each day". Delara is a genius!
